What Wix Stores does natively
- Edit quantities: yes, product by product or in the inventory page.
- Scan a barcode in the Wix mobile app: yes, to find a product whose SKU matches. It opens the product; it does not run a count.
- Inventory reports: aggregated reports such as inventory snapshot and low inventory. No line per stock movement.
- History of stock changes: no. Wix states that it is currently not possible to track a product's history, such as changes to its inventory level. It is a feature request collecting votes.
- A stocktake session (several people scanning, a review of the differences, adjustments applied together): no.
Counting by hand
- Export your products to CSV and print the list, or open it on a tablet.
- Count shelf by shelf, writing the counted quantity next to each line.
- Compare and correct each quantity in the Wix inventory page.
Where it stops: two people cannot work on the same list, a sale made during the count turns a correct figure into a wrong one, nothing tells you which products nobody counted, and once you have typed the new quantities there is no record of what the old ones were.
What a count you can trust needs
- Expected quantities frozen at the start, so every difference is measured against the same reference.
- Several people counting at once, each on their own device.
- A review before anything is written: over, under, not counted.
- Sales during the count handled, not corrected twice.
- A written record afterwards: what changed, by how much, why.
What MT: Inventory Count & History does on Wix
MT: Inventory Count & History adds the two things above to a Wix store: a stocktake, and a log of every stock movement.
- Any phone is a scanner. The dashboard shows a QR code; the phone opens the count in its browser. No app to install, no Wix account, no login. The link gives access to that count only, never to your dashboard. Barcodes are read on the device and no photo is uploaded. USB and Bluetooth scanners work too.
- Works when the network drops. Scans are saved on the phone and sent when the connection returns.
- Forgiving scans.
ABC-1234andabc 1234match, UPC-A and EAN-13 forms of the same code match, and an unknown code gets a "did you mean" suggestion. - Two modes: count (the counted quantity replaces the stock) and receive (scanned units are added).
- Review before anything is written: matching, over, under, not counted, with the value of the differences when Wix knows the cost. Products you did not scan are left untouched by default, so counting one shelf does not zero the rest.
- Sales during the count: the variant is flagged, and the live stock is read again when you apply.
- One click to apply the adjustments to your Wix inventory. Nothing is written before you press Apply.
- Movement log. Every stock change from the day you install: order, order reverted, manual edit in Wix, stock count, receiving, loss recorded. With the quantity before and after when Wix provides it, filters by product, date, reason and location.
- Shrinkage. Losses by reason (theft, breakage, expired, receiving error), from counts and from manual entries, valued at cost.
- Phone scan page in 6 languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch. The dashboard is in English.
Known limits. A product whose quantity is not tracked in Wix ("In stock / Out of stock" instead of a number) produces no stock movement and cannot be counted; switch on quantity tracking for it first. On the classic Wix Stores catalogue, variants have no barcode field, so scanning matches the SKU.
Price. The free plan covers one open count at a time, 500 variants per count, one phone, the default location and 30 days of log. Pro is $7.99 per month: 5,000 variants per count, unlimited phones and locations, a 2-year log, CSV exports. The customer guide shows a full count with real screenshots.

Frequently asked questions
Does Wix Stores have a stocktake feature?
You can edit quantities, and the Wix mobile app can scan a barcode to find a product by SKU. There is no counting session with review and grouped adjustments.
Can I see the history of inventory changes in Wix?
Not natively: Wix lists product history as a feature request. The app records every stock movement from the day it is installed.
Do I need barcode scanners?
No. Any recent phone works, from a QR code, with no app and no login. USB and Bluetooth scanners also work.
What happens if a product sells while I am counting?
The variant is flagged as changed, and the live stock is read again when you apply.
Why did a test order lower my stock and appear as an order in the log?
From 1 November 2026, Wix lets site owners place a test order through the live checkout with a test payment method (Test Purchase Flow). Wix told developers that test orders follow the same lifecycle as real ones and reduce inventory. The stock change reaches the app like a sale, so the log shows it with the reason Order. Match the product, quantity and time with your test order and ignore the line, or cancel the test order in Wix and restock the items: the stock goes back up and that movement is logged too.
