Two things every stockroom needs and Wix does not provide: a way to count stock with the phones you already own, and a written record of every stock change — who changed what, when and why. This app does both. Nothing is written to your Wix stock until you press Apply.
Two people, two phones, one shelf each. They scan barcodes; you watch the differences appear in your dashboard and apply them when you agree with them.
A variant reads 3 instead of 12. The movement log shows every step: an order took 2, someone edited it by hand in Wix, a count set it to 3.
You need the number of units that went missing and what they cost you. Shrinkage adds up the gaps found by your counts and the losses you recorded by hand.
Install, start a count, show the QR code to your team. They scan with any phone — no app to install, no login. You review the differences on screen, then apply them in one click.
From the Wix App Market, click Add to Site. The app indexes every product and variant with its SKU, its barcode and its current quantity, then opens in your site dashboard under Apps → MT: Stock Count & Scan. From that moment it also starts recording your stock movements — there is nothing else to switch on.
Give it a name, pick the location, pick the mode, press Start counting. The expected quantities are frozen at that second, so what you compare against does not move under your feet while people are counting. Two modes: Count — the counted quantity replaces the stock; Receiving — the scanned units are added to it, for a delivery you are putting away. You can also limit a count to a few products when you only want to check one shelf.
Every open count shows a QR code and a link. Anyone who scans it lands on a counting page built for a phone: no app to install, no Wix account, no login. Several phones can count the same session at the same time, and each one names itself so you can see who scanned what. If the Wi-Fi drops in the stockroom, scans are kept on the phone and sent as soon as the network is back. The link expires on its own after 12 hours.
On a phone whose browser supports it, the page opens the camera and reads barcodes on the device — no photo is ever uploaded. Each read shows what was counted and what was expected, with a sound and a flash so you can keep your eyes on the shelf. A USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner works too: it simply types into the field. And a code that will not read can always be typed by hand.
This is the step that protects you. Before anything is written you see the whole picture: how many variants were counted, how many match, how many are under and how many are over, then line by line the expected quantity, the counted quantity and the gap. Anything you disagree with can be corrected on the spot — Set a quantity by hand, or undo the last scan of a line. Only when you press Apply to Wix stock is anything written.
Two details worth knowing. Variants nobody scanned are left untouched by default — a partial count of one shelf will not zero the rest of your store; switch that to "set them to 0" when you really did count the whole location. And if a sale or a manual edit changed a variant while the count was running, the app says so and re-reads the live stock for that line when you apply, so a sale made during the count is not silently overwritten.
Wix keeps your current quantity; it does not keep the story of how you got there. This app does. Every stock change on your store lands in the movement log — orders, cancellations, manual edits made in the Wix dashboard, counts, receiving, losses — each with the quantity before and after, the reason, and who did it. Filter by product, by date or by reason, and export the result as CSV.
Shrinkage puts two things side by side: the units your applied counts found missing, and the losses you record by hand — a broken item, an expired batch, a theft. Each product shows how many counts it went through, the units missing, the units found in excess, and a total valued at cost when Wix knows the cost. Recording a loss can also remove the units from your Wix stock right away, and it appears in the movement log as "Loss recorded".
Little to configure, on purpose: what to do with variants nobody scanned, the default location for new counts, and a Sync now button if you have just reworked your catalogue and do not want to wait for the daily sync. The same page tells you which catalogue version your store runs on, how many variants are indexed, and which plan you are on.
Wix notifies the app the moment a stock level changes, and the notification carries a reason and an author. The app stores the quantity before and after, then labels the line. Its own writes — a count, a receiving, a recorded loss — are labelled at the source, so they are never confused with something a person did in the Wix dashboard.
| In the log | What it means |
|---|---|
| Order | A customer order took the units out. |
| Order reverted | An order was cancelled or refunded and the units came back. |
| Manual edit in Wix | Someone typed a new quantity in the Wix dashboard. |
| Stock count | A count of yours was applied — the line links back to it. |
| Receiving | A delivery was scanned in and added to the stock. |
| Loss recorded | You recorded a loss by hand and asked for the stock to be reduced. |
| Sync | The daily sync found a quantity that had changed without a notification. |
One limit stated plainly: a product whose quantity Wix does not track produces no movement at all. In Catalog → Inventory those items show an "In stock / Out of stock" dropdown instead of a number — Wix keeps no quantity for them, so there is nothing to record and nothing to count. The app marks them not tracked in a count so you are not left guessing. Turn quantity tracking on for the item and it starts behaving like the rest.
Counting is free and stays free: a small store with one stockroom and one phone never has to pay. Pro is for teams counting together, several locations, and the long movement log you want the day you need to prove what happened to a batch of stock.
Its quantity is not tracked in Wix. Open Catalog → Inventory: if the item shows "In stock / Out of stock" instead of a number, Wix holds no quantity for it, emits no stock event, and there is nothing for the app to record. Switch that item to a tracked quantity and it will behave like the others. In a count these items are flagged not tracked.
Yes, on the Pro plan: everyone opens the same QR code, each phone names itself, and the scans add up in the same session. On the free plan a count accepts one phone.
The app flags the variant as changed in Wix since the count started, and when you apply it re-reads the live stock for that line. The sale is not overwritten by a number that was already stale.
No. Variants nobody scanned are left unchanged by default. Setting them to 0 is a deliberate choice you make in the count, for when you really did count the whole location.
Scan or type the SKU instead — the field accepts either. On the older Wix Stores catalogue, which has no barcode field on variants, counting is done by SKU.
Neither. It is a web page opened from a QR code, valid for 12 hours, and it gives access to that count only — never to your dashboard or your store.
The app stops immediately and everything it holds for your site is deleted within 30 days. Reinstalling inside that window brings your settings back. Export what you want to keep as CSV first.
