What the rule says
Directive (EU) 2019/2161, the "Omnibus Directive", applies since 28 May 2022. In the words of the European Commission's guidance, the prior price shown with a price reduction is "the lowest price applied by the trader during a period of time not shorter than 30 days prior to the application of the price reduction".
Example: a product sold at 100, dropped to 80 for a week, put back to 100, then "reduced" to 85 two weeks later cannot be advertised as "100, now 85". The lowest price of the 30 days before the reduction was 80.
The rule is enforced by national authorities, and fines are real: €621,000 for five online stores in the Netherlands in 2024, and fines for Zalando and Temu in Poland in January 2026. The full background, including the options left to each country, is in our Omnibus guide for Shopify; the law is the same whatever your platform.
What Wix Stores does natively
- Sale prices: yes. When you apply a sale price, Wix shows the original price crossed out next to the discounted price.
- Ribbons, coupons, automatic discounts: yes.
- The lowest price of the last 30 days: no. Wix lists it as a feature request that is collecting votes.
- Price history: no. Wix states that it is currently not possible to track a product's history, such as changes to its price.
The crossed-out price is the amount you entered. Nothing ties it to what you actually charged over the last 30 days, and without a price history there is nothing to show an authority that asks.
What you can do without an app
- Keep a price log by hand: a spreadsheet with every price change, per variant, with the date.
- Before each sale, look up the lowest price of the previous 30 days and write "Lowest price in the last 30 days: …" in the product description, in each language of your site.
- Limits: it holds for a few products. With many variants and frequent promotions the log is never complete, and the text has to be removed by hand when the sale ends.
What MT: Omnibus Price & EU GARAN does on Wix
MT: Omnibus Price & EU GARAN records your prices and adds the 30-day lowest price line to your product pages. It only reads your catalogue: products, prices and design are never modified.
Since 27 September 2026 the same app also shows the official EU legal guarantee notice under the price, and the EU GARAN label on products whose producer gives a guarantee of durability that is free of charge, covers the whole product and lasts more than 2 years. The guarantee information is included in every plan.
- Records every price change, per variant, from the day you install it.
- One line under the price, only during a sale. The line appears when a product has a sale price, and disappears when the sale ends.
- Placed in one click. The line is a Wix site plugin in the product page slot; the dashboard places it for you. Works with the classic and the new Wix Stores catalogue, and the classic and new product page.
- The calculation the directive describes: the lowest price of the 30 days before the promotion started. A rolling window is available if your national rules call for it.
- Never invents a price. If a sale was already running when you installed the app, there is no known earlier price, so the line stays hidden for that product instead of showing a made-up reference.
- 7 languages, following your site language: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish. The wording is editable.
- Compliance report (Pro): one line per promotion and per variant with dates, sale price and reference price, exportable to CSV.
- No cookie, no visitor tracking. Hosted in the European Union (OVHcloud, France).
Known limits. References are calculated in your store currency. Coupons applied at checkout are not part of the displayed price and are not counted.
Price. The compliance line is free on your whole catalogue, with no product limit. Pro is $4.49 per month and adds a 24-month price history archive and the compliance report with CSV export. The customer guide shows the setup with real screenshots.

Frequently asked questions
Does Wix Stores show the lowest price of the last 30 days?
Not natively. Wix shows the original price crossed out. Displaying the 30-day lowest price is a Wix feature request that is collecting votes.
Is the crossed-out price on Wix enough for the Omnibus Directive?
Not by itself. It is the amount you entered. The rule requires the lowest price applied during at least the 30 days before the reduction, which needs a price history.
Is the compliance line limited to a number of products on the free plan?
No. It covers the whole catalogue. Pro adds the 24-month archive and the report.
Do coupons count?
Coupons applied at checkout are not part of the displayed product price, so the app does not count them.
